INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY COMMITTEE
REFORMA Policy and Procedures Manual

The REFORMA Information Technology Commitee (ITC) Chair and members serve a minimum term of two (calendar) years.

The Chair:

  1. Represents REFORMA on issues relating to technology.
  2. Creates workgroups as necessary.
  3. Recruits members and advisors to the ITC from REFORMA membership.
  4. Submits a committee report to the REFORMA Executive Board at the ALA Midwinter and Annual meetings.

The ITC:

  1. Oversees the development of the REFORMA Website.
  2. Promote electronic communication among REFORMA Members.
  3. Conduct workshops on technology and increases information technology literacy as appropriate.
  4. Keeps abreast of information policies and legislation that will effect libraries, communities and individuals and share with REFORMA members.
  5. Keeps abreast of current technologies and advise REFORMA National on innovative uses of technology to further REFORMA’s mission.
  6. Develops and promote appropriate uses of technology that will benefit the Spanish Speaking communities.
  7. Becomes involved with the legislative processes that shape, affect and impact access to technology for the Spanish Speaking communities.
  8. Serves as resource to chapters and National committees on issues relating to technology.
