Rockville, MD, March 25, 2011-- REFORMA Launches a New Website and Online Member Services

REFORMA, the national association to promote library and information services to Latinos and the Spanish-speaking, is pleased to announce the public release of a completely redesigned website in conjunction with the implementation of a new Association Management System (AMS). REFORMA selected a well-regarded association management software company, Timberlake, to provide a variety of online member services, a web content management system and comprehensive tools to assist with member management, event management and communication.

This project was spearheaded by J. Carlos Rodriguez, Associate Dean of Technology & Information Services at Grand Valley State University, and Chair of the AMS Task Force. Under Rodriguez’s leadership, the Task Force completed the information migration from its FileMaker Pro-based legacy membership system and configured the AMS to meet REFORMA’s needs.

The new website will enhance value for REFORMA members and the general public. Some of the new online services available include: online membership application; online dues-paying capabilities; online event registration; enhanced member profiles; online communication tools (discussion forums, RSS feeds, web-based publications, and blogs); data collection services (online surveys, polls and elections); and a “Members Only” web portal.

The new membership site is an exciting milestone for the association. “After many meetings and long hours of work over the course of the past three years, we finally have a system that will allow us to grow our numbers and conduct our business in a more efficient manner,” said REFORMA President Lucia Gonzalez.

REFORMA is delighted with its updated web presence, and strongly encourages the greater library community to visit the improved site. The new website can be viewed at: http://www.reforma.org.
