This is a full-time appointment available starting October 2013.

The University of California, Berkeley seeks an enthusiastic and service-oriented librarian with science collections experience for an appointment in the Engineering & Physical Sciences Division. The librarian will also contribute to public services and assume lead responsibility in the Division for one of our initiatives such as data management, instruction and online education, outreach, scholarly communication, or web services.

The Environment

These libraries maintain a research-level print and digital collection to support the research and teaching programs of the College of Chemistry, the College of Engineering, and the College of Letters & Science’s Mathematical & Physical Sciences Division. These collections are also heavily used by researchers throughout the university community and beyond.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director of the Library’s Engineering & Physical Sciences Division, the librarian in this position is responsible for collection development and collection management for earth and planetary science, astronomy, and physics.
