Student Engagement & Community Outreach Librarian Position Opening
Oregon State University Libraries & Press (OSUL&P) invites applications for the position of Student Engagement & Community Outreach Librarian, a full-time (1.00 FTE), 12-month, tenure track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level. We are looking for an energetic, forward-thinking colleague interested in developing and implementing programs and initiatives aimed at improving undergraduate student success at the university. Strong interpersonal skills are essential: the successful candidate will be a strong advocate for underserved student populations. Working independently and collaboratively with OSUL&P colleagues, the Student Engagement & Community Outreach Librarian will work directly with student groups, and will seek out and build relationships with student-centered units and programs across campus, especially those supporting traditionally underserved populations. He or she will work both independently and collaboratively with colleagues in the Teaching and Engagement department to support the Libraries’ instruction program and to develop innovative new teaching initiatives. This is a tenure-track position. The successful candidate will actively participate in research, contribute to the university’s teaching mission, and engage in professional service. Entry-level or early career librarians are encouraged to apply. The salary for this position is set at $50,000 per year, in addition to a generous vacation and benefits package. OSU is an AA/EOE, and has a policy of being responsive to dual-career needs. To ensure full consideration, applications must be received by 02/21/2014. The full announcement and application instructions are available at: http://jobs.oregonstate.edu/. Look for posting # 0011855. If you have any questions about this position, please contact Hannah Gascho Rempel, search committee chair (hannah.rempel@oregonstate.edu). |
