OSU-Cascades is seeking applicants to fill a fulltime, 12 month library faculty position. We anticipate hiring at the Instructor level. Ideally, the successful candidate will be available for appointment effective June 2012. The person who fills this position will be assigned to work at Oregon State University-Cascades, located in Bend, Oregon.

The duties of this position include teaching, research, and service to the university and profession. In alignment with the OSU Libraries Instruction Program, the OSU-Cascades Instruction Librarian develops and delivers library programs and services to the OSU-Cascades community and degree programs, teaches information literacy concepts and skills, and builds liaison relationships with OSU-Cascades faculty. Research activities are expected to result in publications which advance knowledge or improve practice related to Library and Information Sciences. Service activities include participation in the Cascades Campus and professional societies.

University and Community: Oregon State University is one of only ten American Universities to hold the Land Grant, Sea Grant, and Space Grant designations and is a Carnegie Doctoral/Research-Extensive university. OSU-Cascades is a branch campus of Oregon State University located in the outdoor recreation mecca of Bend, Oregon. Explore your academic potential while you hit the slopes of Mt. Bachelor, raft down the Deschutes River, or climb South Sister. http://www.visitbend.com/ OSU-Cascades offers 20 different degree options. OSU-Cascades has extra small class sizes, one-on-one mentoring by world-class faculty, and creative course delivery, that makes for a dynamic learning experience. Students find a personal approach to academics on a vibrant, student-centered campus. http://www.osucascades.edu/. Started in the fall of 2001, it now enrolls more than 800 students taking upper division and masters level course work. Many students take their lower division courses from Central Oregon Community College, where the Cascades Campus is co-located.

OSU-Cascades Library services are provided in partnership with Central Oregon Community College. COCC's Barber Library serves as the library's physical space. OSU-Cascades print collection, selected to directly support local research and programs, is intershelved with COCC's collections. Materials from OSU's other libraries are available to the OSU-Cascades community via courier service or through electronic delivery as appropriate. Public service points for the OSU-Cascades community, such as the reference and circulation desks, are managed by COCC. OSU-Cascades students, faculty, and staff have access to all electronic resources provided by OSU Libraries.

Salary is competitive and dependent upon qualifications. Employee benefits are competitive.
