Executive Director-High Plains Library District-Colorado!

Lead the High Plains Library District (CO) as it propels its services and programs into the future! HPLD embraces its history, while focusing on its future. The High Plains Library District Board of Trustees seeks an Executive Director who will work with both its founding member libraries and system branch libraries to unite the District and continue its work serving the 265,000+ residents of Weld County and neighboring areas over its 4,000 square mile service district. With a $34 million annual budget, 151 FTE, six member libraries, seven branches, bookmobiles, and service center, the District circulated 2.6 million items to 119,310 card holders in 2016. The successful candidate will be able to move easily among and work well collaborating with multiple constituencies including branch libraries, member library directors and their governing Boards, the HPLD Board of Trustees, community stakeholders, and a committed and dedicated staff.

Located in northern Colorado, Weld County is home to small towns, thriving cities, and rural areas with wide open sky and beautiful mountain views. Its thirty-one municipalities have distinct personalities, rich history, and a strong sense of community. Living in Weld County, residents are within an hour or less from cultural amenities, professional sports teams, year-round outdoor recreational activities, the beauty of Rocky Mountain National Park, and the convenience of Denver International Airport. Weld County is also a wonderful home for families—twelve school districts, charter schools and private schools offer many choices. Higher education opportunities include The University of Northern Colorado and Aims Community College. In addition to agriculture and energy, Weld County offers museums, trails, galleries and breweries. For more information on High Plains Library District and the County, visit HPLD Links.
