TITLE: Student Success Librarian, Paul Robeson Library Rutgers University Libraries

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Rutgers University Libraries seeks a Student Success Librarian for the Paul Robeson Library in Camden. The Student Success Librarian will work closely with librarians, faculty, and university partners at Rutgers University-Camden to lead and develop library services that support student success, recruitment, and retention. The successful candidate will be an engaged librarian who enjoys working with students, especially those in their first two years of college and first-generation students. This librarian will develop new initiatives to expand and further integrate library services into the university community.

The Student Success Librarian will:

? Build relationships in the Rutgers University – Camden academic and student services programs that support the student population in order to increase knowledge of library services and resources.
? Support student-centered learning, focusing on building library research skills and engaging students with the tools of scholarship.
? Coordinate assessment of library student success initiatives and participate in assessment of university-wide initiatives.
? Collaborate with the Paul Robeson Library Coordinator of Instruction, subject liaisons, and course instructors to develop and offer customized instruction (e.g. Graduate Student workshops on Refworks, copyright, etc.) in multiple formats.
? In consultation and coordination with the Rutgers University Libraries Communications unit, Paul Robeson Director and Paul Robeson library faculty colleagues, will create a communications plan and implement the marketing of library services to all students.
? Serve as a subject liaison and perform collection development activities.
? Serve on the reference desk and contribute to reference via chat and email.
? Contribute to the priorities and initiatives of Paul Robeson Library, Rutgers University Libraries and Rutgers
University – Camden.

This tenure-track position reports to the Director of Paul Robeson Library and is a member of the Paul Robeson Library Faculty, a team of librarians committed to providing first-rate public services to a diverse academic community. As part of the Paul Robeson faculty, the selected candidate will provide instruction, research assistance and information services via multiple modalities. This may require working evenings and weekends. The successful candidate must demonstrate a commitment to continual professional development through scholarly research and service, including publications, presentations and participation and leadership in the work of relevant professional associations.

QUALIFICATIONS: A Master’s degree in Library or Information Sciences from an ALA-accredited institution or its equivalent is required. Two years of experience as an academic librarian is required. Demonstrated experience with creating and assessing student learning outcomes is preferred. The successful candidate should exhibit excellent interpersonal communication skills; the ability to interact effectively with students, faculty and staff; the ability to build fruitful relationships and partnerships; and, be knowledgeable of trends and services in academic libraries. A demonstrated commitment to fostering diversity as an organizational priority is required. Candidates who have had successful experience in the design and delivery of engaging learning activities and services for diverse populations will be given preference. The successful candidate must be eligible to work in the U.S.

SALARY/STATUS: Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
