SALARY: $46,821 - $56,493 ANNUALLY (DEPENDING ON QUALIFICATIONS)

Master’s Degree in library science from an ALA accredited school PLUS 2 years increasingly responsible professional library and digital archives experience. Training and supervisory experience in archives management and support of a digital file management system is preferred. Working some evenings and weekends is required. Preference will be given to applicants who are Certified Archivists.
The Fort Worth Library is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Senior Librarian – Digital Archivist. The qualified candidate will demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of the principles, practices, techniques and trends in archival theory and concepts; archives management; and knowledge of general print and electronic information resources. Must be knowledgeable in the legal, fiscal, administrative and historical value of archive records including experience in evaluating, appraising, and accessioning archive collections. A minimum of two years of professional experience in a manuscript, archival or special collections setting, including development and digitization of archive collections; knowledge of metadata schemes used in the development of archival finding aids; collections processing; preservation techniques. Experience with a digital asset management system is required, preferably CONTENTdm; the ability to oversee and administrate a digital archive including selection of digital collections; creation of metadata, collection and server rights selection; digital conversion; website customization; and publishing of digital content. The ability to learn new programming languages is required. The successful candidate will advise the library on industry changes to file formats; prepare proposals for external funding for digital preservation projects; and prepare specifications for vended services. Excellent organizational skills; an awareness of current trends in collection development; strong Internet and computer skills; a track record of successful adult programming for diverse communities; well-developed communication and interpersonal skills; the ability to work independently, in a team setting, and to supervise archive projects; and the capacity to handle multiple tasks are also qualifications necessary for this position. Must have a strong commitment to public service and enjoy working directly with the public.
This position is responsible for supporting the unit’s ongoing operations, including digitization and publication of archive collections to the Library’s Digital Archives; selection and collection development; organization and description of archival collections; reference/research services by telephone, e-mail, and in person; and developing innovative approaches to deliver superior customer service.
Library environment; exposure to computer screens.
Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for moderate or light lifting; sitting, walking or standing for prolonged periods of time.
SENIOR MAINTENANCE WORKER

The City of Fort Worth is recruiting to hire a Senior Maintenance Worker for the Parks and Community Services Department to perform athletics maintenance and grounds keeping duties within the Athletics Maintenance Division. To ensure work quality and adherence to established policies and procedures; to participate in the training and monitoring of lower level employees; and other duties and responsibilities assigned.
High School Diploma or GED supplemented by specialized training in general maintenance and construction operations PLUS three (3) years of experience of sports turf maintenance is required. Successful candidate must have the ability to mow and maintain turf fields such as baseball and softball fields, measuring fields, lining and dragging fields, minor fence repair, apply pesticides and fertilizers, operate and maintain power driven equipment, i.e., tractors, large turf mowers, reel mowers, etc.
Possession of a valid Class C driver’s license is required.
Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate Texas Pesticide Applicator’s license may be required.
Indoor and outdoor environments; exposure to extremes in weather conditions; exposure to vibrations, and noise; work on slippery or uneven surfaces, work with electrical energy; work with and around heavy machinery, in or near vehicle traffic; exposure to dust and fumes from motorized equipment; possible exposure to toxic chemicals.
