What do you value most as a librarian? If your answer is: “providing library services to diverse communities”- we have a position for you that you will find meaningful and fulfilling.


The San Rafael Public Library is looking for an energetic, collaborative, and inventive person to lead our Pickleweed Branch library as a Supervising Librarian. This small branch library, which opened in 2006, serves San Rafael’s Canal neighborhood.


Here’s what you need to know:

- We need someone who is bilingual (English/Spanish)

- We need someone who has experience in and truly values outreach to diverse communities

- We would prefer a candidate with management experience….

- However, if you are bilingual, have experience working with diverse communities, and have initiative and a willingness to learn we welcome your application as well!

- The San Rafael Public Library is committed to quality service, innovation, and community engagement

- The Supervising Librarian is the primary librarian in charge of the Pickleweed Branch. Responsibilities include community outreach, collection development, and public service librarianship for all ages.

- Supervising Librarians participate as members of the Library’s Supervisory Team.
