REFORMA

The National Association to Promote Library and Information Services to Latinos and the Spanish-Speaking

Tucson, Arizona Chapter

Bienvenidos Reformistas,

Welcome to Tucson for REFORMA’s Second National Conference. We are proud to have you visit the birthplace of REFORMA. We hope you enjoy the programs and events.

The theme of this year’s conference is the "Power of Language: Planning for the 21st Century". Latinos will be the largest minority in this new millennium with more than fifteen million citizens and another ten million legal residents. We come from many countries and are of every possible racial group. Spanish is the most studied "foreign" language in the United States and is the basis for many English expressions. The contributions of Latinos to the United States are continuing to transform this society. This conference offers us the opportunity to plan library services that reflect our cultural diversity.

Thanks to all of our Local Arrangement Committee members who dedicated their time and energy to make this conference successful. They worked very hard to plan an exciting array of activities and opportunities for learning and sharing.

¡Qué Todos Disfruten!
