UT Libraries seeks an innovative, collaborative, service-oriented, and highly motivated individual to serve as the Tocker Open Education Librarian. This position will build on existing work and relationships to lead the planning, implementation, and assessment of the UT Austin open education program. This position will coordinate the Libraries open education services, including collaborating with faculty, students, staff, and administrators across the university to promote the adoption and creation of open and affordable course content, and assisting faculty in identifying appropriate open educational resources (OER) and support materials. This position will also promote best practices for digital accessibility, archiving, assessment, attribution, and resource sharing of OER in collaboration with other Libraries units. The Tocker Open Education Librarian will actively contribute to the UT Libraries overall scholarly communications program which includes open access, repositories, research data services, copyright, and open education.
This 5-year term-limited position, which reports to the Head of Scholarly Communications, was made possible with a generous grant from the Tocker Foundation. To receive full consideration, complete application materials, including supplementary questions included in the posting, are due by the date of first review on Monday, February 17, 2020. To review a complete listing of responsibilities, qualifications, and salary information, and to apply, please visit the UT Austin Job Board by following the link below. Tocker Open Education Librarian (Assistant Librarian) posting R_00007696 https://utaustin.wd1.myworkdayjobs.com/UTstaff/job/UT-MAIN-CAMPUS/Tocker-Open-Education-Librarian--Assistant-Librarian-_R_00007696 Research indicates that applicants with marginalized identities are hesitant to apply for positions if they do not meet all the required and preferred qualifications. We want to emphasize that although experience in certain areas is desirable, entry-level candidates who meet the required qualifications, demonstrate excellent promise, and a passion for student success, open education, and scholarly communications are encouraged to apply and will be given serious consideration. Opportunities for training, mentorship, and support from individuals with a variety of skill sets exist locally, regionally, and nationally.
