Westminster College, a leading liberal arts college located in New Wilmington, Pennsylvania, seeks a dynamic individual who thrives in collaborative environments for the position of Instruction and Outreach Librarian. This is a ten-month, non-tenure-track position with faculty status.

The Instruction and Outreach Librarian will lead our library’s efforts to equip students with information literacy skills, both in the context of the College’s robust First-Year Program and across disciplinary courses. The librarian will work with faculty to integrate IL competencies into their courses and build discipline-specific information literacy curricula within majors and programs, including the development and execution of outcomes-based assessment. This librarian will also promote and coordinate the library’s research assistance/reference services to our students, faculty, and other patron groups. They will also support technology-enhanced and online learning initiatives, collaborating with the Instructional Design/Technology Librarian and providing end-user support of the College’s Learning Management System (Desire2Learn).

The successful candidate will join a library staff that values innovation and creativity. They will have the opportunity to collaborate across the College to develop new instructional experiences for students and faculty and to experiment with emerging technologies and new pedagogical strategies as they relate to library services.

An MLS from an ALA-accredited institution is required. The successful candidate will be an effective teacher and communicator. We seek someone who is energetic, flexible, and enthusiastic about teaching and working with undergraduate and graduate students. A strong candidate will have experience and/or demonstrated passion for working with students in an academic library setting. Experience with a learning management system (especially Desire2Learn) is preferred. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
