Dominican University and the Rebecca Crown Library invites applications for the position of Technical Services and E-Resources Librarian. The Rebecca Crown Library seeks a Technical Services and E-Resources Librarian who will provide the leadership, vision, and creativity for the reimagined technical services unit of the Rebecca Crown Library.

Reporting to the University Librarian, the Technical Services and E-Resources Librarian leads and manages the technical services unit which is responsible for the acquisition of library materials, cataloging, e-resources, maintenance of the library collection and catalog, discovery layer and authentication tools. Working with the University Librarian, the Technical Services and E-Resources Librarian monitors the library collection budget. The Technical Services and E-Resources Librarian serves as liaison to the Consortium of Academic and Research Libraries of Illinois (CARLI). The Rebecca Crown Library faculty members are expected to work collegially by following the University and Library mission statements and the Library’s civility statement. Faculty librarians will be responsible for the leadership of their units, and all faculty librarians participate in library instruction, provide reference assistance, and participate in the development of an inclusive library collection reflective of our university curriculum and student body. Faculty Librarians are expected to follow the Rebecca Crown Library Roles and Responsibilities policies and procedures and the Faculty Handbook for promotion and tenure.

About the Rebecca Crown Library
Mission: As a Sinsinawa Dominican-sponsored institution, the Rebecca Crown Library guides its students, employees, and community to discover ideas, develop passions, find truths, and apply knowledge. We provide compassionate service and encourage our community to participate in the creation of a more just and humane world.

The library was built in 1972 and renovated in 2002. In 2019 librarians began re-imagining library services and staffing, and with other stakeholders, began the planning of the Learning Commons. The Learning Commons will feature an enhanced classroom, an Innovation Center, the Academic Enrichment Center and Disability Support Services, numerous group study and testing rooms, collaborative spaces, a contemplative space, a small reading room, and a recording studio.

Qualifications:
The successful candidate will hold an ALA- accredited MLS/MLIS; demonstrate the capacity to understand, embrace, and champion the mission and values of the Catholic Dominican intellectual traditions; and be an interculturally competent leader who understands issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Minimum Qualifications
•     MLIS/MLS degree from an ALA-accredited program
•      Ability to work collegially and communicate effectively with the Dominican University Community
•     Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
•      Demonstrated commitment and enthusiasm in providing compassionate service and teaching to all library users
•     Strong commitment to supporting cultural competencies, diversity, equity and inclusion in higher education
•      Ability to meet tenure requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
•     Two years of library experience working in a technical services unit
•     Experience working with Alma/Primo
•     Experience with providing access to electronic resources (licensing, troubleshooting, etc. and authentication services
•     Ability to read and speak Spanish
