The Mary Livermore Library supports learning and teaching, research, creation of knowledge, intellectual growth, and enrichment of the academic experience. The university works to “change lives through education,” while the library “enhances education through research.”

Primary Purpose of Position:

This faculty position provides, instruction, reference, scholarly research and serves as a highly technical role in the department.

Job Description:

Established in 1887 as a school for the education of American Indians, The University of North Carolina at Pembroke serves a distinctly diverse student body and encourages inclusion and appreciation of the values of all people. Develop online learning materials for the library with an understanding of learning management systems, Open Education Resources initiatives, LibGuides, digital repositories, and innovative digital tools.
Coordinate the online reference services and keep current with student communication through emerging technologies.
Provides reference services face-to-face in a lead reference role.
Design Instructional Resource modules, tutorials, and interactive content for library instruction and course offerings.
Teach undergraduate LIB1000 and graduate level LIB 5000 classes using the Association of College and Research Libraries Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education.
Assess reference services, and activities within the scope of online learning by writing reports, and data analysis.
Represent the library department as a campus leader collaborating in methods of retention through orientations, admissions events, student programming of first year, transfers, and graduate students.
Maintain active research and learning criteria for faculty rank and promotion.
