With career paths, workforce expectations, and business models changing dramatically, we are seeking someone ready to re-imagine how the Skokie Public Library engages with individuals and businesses to support their economic stability and strength. As Community Engagement Liaison for Economic Well-being, you will develop and implement strategies for partnerships, services, and programs for individuals who are establishing their career paths or need assistance to access/manage personal financial resources; and for local aspiring entrepreneurs and businesses to thrive. Driven by a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, you will build authentic and collaborative relationships with residents of and organizations serving the Skokie community, with an emphasis on immigrants, refugees, and historically marginalized groups. An ideal candidate will have outstanding communication and facilitation skills, a proven track record in developing and managing partnerships, experience working with historically marginalized groups and in community engagement. Experiences in library business services, workforce development, financial literacy, small business development centers, community banking, and/or entrepreneurship/small business management are welcome.

Salary: The annual pay range for new hires in this position is $52,640 to $65,800. Offers are made within this range based on competencies, experience, and in alignment with internal equity. Hours: Full-time, some evenings and weekends Benefits: Health insurance including dependent coverage for medical, dental, and vision. Life insurance paid by the library. Enrollment in Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF) and optional enrollment in Roth IRA or 457 deferred retirement plan. Generous paid time off: 4 weeks of vacation, 12 sick days, 6 personal days, and 7 holidays per year. Plus 8 weeks of paid parental leave. Employee Assistance Program that includes 24/7 anonymous emotional or work-life counseling, plus counseling for legal, financial, medical and benefit-related concerns.
