Assessment and Development Coordinator
The University at Albany Libraries seeks a dynamic, creative, and detail-oriented professional to join the staff of the Dean's Office to coordinate the Libraries' administrative initiatives. He or she will provide leadership in meeting the Libraries' assessment reporting requirements, coordinate the graduate assistant and intern program, support fundraising initiatives, and coordinate the Libraries' development and communications efforts. The Assessment and Development Coordinator will work closely with the Libraries' Division Directors and faculty and reports to the Dean of University Libraries. Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required.
Primary Responsibilities:
Manage the collection, compilation, computation, and maintenance of complex library statistics
Assist with the identification of appropriate assessment metrics and methodologies for strategic library initiatives
Work closely with the Dean of Libraries and University Development staff to prioritize and support the Libraries' funding goals and initiatives
Solicit, create, and edit content for the Libraries' triannual newsletter
Support and coordinate faculty grant application efforts
Coordinate awards process for library, university, SUNY, and external awards
Oversee recruitment and placement of interns and graduate assistants
Additional Responsibilities:
Assist with the development and promotion of Libraries' events and coordinate the Libraries' participation in University events
Serve on appropriate committees, task forces, and working groups

E-Journals/Serials Coordinator
The University at Albany Libraries seek an energetic and detail-oriented information professional to oversee the Serials Services Unit. The successful candidate will be comfortable working with the complexity of supporting electronic resource management of electronic journals and managing the print serials acquisitions processes. The unit orders, checks in, and claims all continuation orders (monographic series, serials, and periodicals) and prepares renewal invoices for payment. The successful candidate will resolve problems related to orders and invoices as well as patron problems accessing electronic resources for which both require internal and external communication. The successful candidate will share responsibility for management of vendor-provided bibliographic records for e-serials and e-journals including automated loading, activation of electronic resources, and communication with vendors. The E-Journals/Serials Coordinator reports to the Head of the Acquisitions Services Department.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provides leadership with serials and the electronic resources life-cycle for e-journals and associated workflows
Supervises one Library Clerk II (SG-9) in the Serials Services Unit
Manages e-journal purchases, renewals, cancellations, activations, and coverage dates in the Alma library services platform (LSP)
Manages print serials purchasing, the annual renewal process, claiming, and cancellation for various material types including print-plus-online journal subscriptions, serials, monographic series, and law materials
Provides support for troubleshooting access problems for resources both on- and off-campus, utilizing in-depth knowledge of electronic resources and their activation, configuration, and delivery
Identifies and leads projects related to print and electronic serials or serials packages as needed to meet the needs of the department, division, or Libraries
Contributes to an atmosphere that encourages effective interpersonal cooperation and communication
Additional Responsibilities:
Manages the creation or editing of publication patterns and vendor records in Alma
Reviews and delegates preparation of vendor renewal lists and annual subscription renewal invoices
Acts as resource person for the department and the Libraries with concerns related to orders for print and print-plus-online continuations and publication patterns, responding in a timely manner
Expected to serve on library or university committees in service to the campus and library community
