The Prince George's County Memorial Library System (PGCMLS) is seeking an experienced Communications Specialist in Largo, MD.
The Communications Specialist is responsible for all English and Spanish, internal and external library communications including media relations, communications writing, government relations, public information officer duties, social media, and contributing to major marketing campaigns.

| Requirements |

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, English, Creative Writing, or a related field required.

Master’s degree or commensurate experience in a related field preferred.

Bilingual in English and Spanish required, with strong written and verbal professional communication skills.

Three or more years of experience coordinating media relations for an institution or business.

Flexible professional writing style (in English and Spanish) that supports a range of different deliverables, including media releases, website copy, social media, email communications, scripts, reports, and remarks/talking points.

Strong public speaking skills and ability to serve as an institutional spokesperson in English and Spanish.
