SUPERVISING LIBRARY SPECIALIST- COLLECTION SERVICES
40 HOURS PER WEEK FULL-TIME
The Resource Sharing Department is seeking a Supervising Library Specialist. This opportunity is part of the Collection Services Division at Library Headquarters in Rohnert Park. This position supervises technical and clerical activities of LINK+ (a system-wide, specialized resource sharing network of public and academic libraries).

TYPICAL DUTIES include, but are not limited to:
- Scheduling, approval of timesheets, training, and performance management
- Planning, organizing, assigning, supervising, and reviewing the work of support staff in assigned area
- Processing LINK+ material; troubleshooting and resolving problems relating to LINK+
- Using Horizon and the LINK+ software, processes LINK+ holds and returns LINK+ materials to other library systems
- Provides excellent customer service in responding to questions from patrons and staff about LINK+
- Interprets and explains rules, regulations, and procedures; assists in the implementation of departmental goals and objectives
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience: Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade and four years
progressively responsible library technical support experience. An Associate’s degree, or higher, from an accredited college or university can substitute for two years of the required experience. Spanish bilingual skills are desired.
Knowledge of: Principles and practices of employee supervision; standard library practices and
procedures; modern office practices, methods, and computer equipment and applications; techniques for providing a high level of customer service by effectively dealing with the public, vendors, contractors, and Library staff.
Ability to: Supervise, train, plan, organize, schedule, assign, review, and evaluate the work of staff;
organize and prioritize a variety of projects and multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner; organize own work, set priorities, and meet critical time deadlines; establish, maintain, and foster positive and effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
SALARY RANGE: $33.85/hour to $42.28/hour
