Digital Services Librarian
Heterick Memorial Library is seeking an innovative, student-focused and collaborative professional to join a team that emphasizes a proactive, user-oriented approach to information access. The Digital Services Librarian serves a key role in this environment by implementing, maintaining, and enhancing library systems and applications in conjunction with the Technical Services Team. As a part of this collaborative team, the Digital Services Librarian provides support for systems that form the foundation for all library services and is principally responsible for the Institutional Repository, website, and improving cross-platform integration of online resources and services. Additionally, in collaboration with all librarians, the Digital Services Librarian supports the university’s academic mission via support of student and faculty research through instruction, reference, collection development, and liaison service to designated academic areas. This position is a full-time (12 month) tenure-track position.

The library takes pride in providing opportunities for on-the-job training, professional development, and peer-to-peer support for all librarians. Limited hybrid work is available during the fall and spring semesters, with more extensive hybrid work available during breaks and the summer.
Principle Responsibilities:
- Serve as a member of the Technical Services Team to provide efficient and consistent access to print and electronic library resources, including support for the library’s integrated library system.
- Administer and enhance the institutional repository (Digital Commons) for a dynamic digital scholarship program and collaborate with faculty, students, and campus partners to grow the repository’s contents.
- Iteratively design, develop, and maintain the library website (currently hosted on the LibGuides CMS platform) informed by user feedback, usability testing, and best practices for design and accessibility.
- Administer and maintain Springshare suite and additional library software programs as needed.
- Maintain awareness of, and engagement with, emerging technology and systems trends and developments.
- Serve as liaison to a small number of academic departments; provide collection development, reference, and occasional information literacy sessions for those areas. Collaborative onboarding for liaison responsibilities included in first year of librarianship at Heterick Mamorial Library.
- Work cooperatively with other librarians and staff on special projects.
- Meet the library’s requirements for tenure and promotion, which include professional development, scholarship, and service on university and professional committees.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with internal and external parties and diverse constituencies, including other staff, cross-departmental/divisional groups, patrons, vendors, and/or library partners.
- Commitment to continued learning and professional development.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in library or information science from a graduate program accredited by the American Library Association, completed by time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with best practices in web design and accessibility.
- Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and APIs.
- Familiarity with library systems.
