Engineering Librarian

The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Libraries seeks a creative, enthusiastic, and service-oriented professional for the position of Liaison to the School of Engineering. Reporting to the Head of the Mervyn H. Sterne Library Department of Research and Learning, the person in this position will provide research, instruction, collection development, and outreach services for assigned departments (Biomedical Engineering; Civil, Construction, & Environmental Engineering; Electrical & Computer Engineering; Materials Science & Engineering; Mechanical Engineering; and Safety Engineering & Management). As a member of the STEM team, the Engineering Librarian will collaborate with the Liaison to the Sciences and Mathematics to support interdisciplinary programs and initiatives. 

This is a 12-month non-tenure track faculty position.

Requirements
  • A Master’s degree, either awarded or completed by the start date, in library/information science from an ALA-accredited school.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, including the ability to work independently as well as within a team environment and with diverse groups.
