Head of Outreach Services

The Montrose Regional Library District is seeking a full time dynamic Head of Outreach Services to highlight our unique resources and bring them to the community.
We value candidates who have a positive and outgoing attitude. You must be able to interact with patrons offsite at various types of locations; have a valid driver’s license and be able to drive a variety of outreach vehicles, including a 30 foot bookmobile (CDL not required); possess strong communication and organizational skills; and are comfortable with people of all ages and from all backgrounds.
An ideal candidate will be able to work with large and small groups; possess Spanish-language abilities (nearly a third of our population are native Spanish speakers); be able to work some evenings and weekends; and have the ability to perform more physically intensive duties, which can include lifting and pushing heavy materials, bending and kneeling, and being mobile for much of the day. The starting rate for a Head of Outreach Services is $50,000 annually, with additional increases for a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA-accredited university and for proficiency in Spanish.
