Read Aloud Program Administrator
ELD is seeking a team-oriented, flexible, and motivated Read Aloud Program Administrator to join our Early Learning Department to coordinate the 35 year old Read Aloud program. Volunteers and DPL staff participating in the Read Aloud Program provide about 250 high quality, research-based, early literacy enriched storytimes in preschool classrooms across Denver each week. In this position, you will coordinate the people and materials needed to provide this program as well as partner with Denver Public School classrooms, Head Start, and community preschool sites to ensure equitable access to this early literacy support service.
More specifically, the Read Aloud Program Administrator:

Manages the program volunteer corps by recruiting, training, and supporting program volunteers;

Works with teachers and schools to determine volunteer placements;

Works closely with internal DPL departments to manage related grants and support volunteers;

Maintains and develops program picture book collection and additional support materials;

Communicates with program stakeholders;

Evaluates program;

Provides storytimes for children from birth through kindergarten.

Build, foster, and strengthen relationships with community partners including schools, cultural institutions, city agencies and other organizations working in the early learning field.

Supports other Youth Services efforts to share research-based early learning practices with parents, caregivers, teachers, and adults to support children from birth through kindergarten in acquiring critical early learning skills.
