The Library of Congress is hiring an experienced digital resources library professional for the role of Electronic Resources Coordinator (GS 13). The Library of Congress provides users and staff access to a wide variety of electronic resources that support scholarly research. For the purpose of this position description, electronic resources are considered to be online sources of content such as databases, full text services and aggregations that are made available in the Library via the Electronic Resources Online Catalog. Most are proprietary resources for which the Library pays to either lease access for a limited period or to purchase perpetual access.
This position is located in the Collection Development Office of Researcher and Collections Services, and reports to the Collection Development Officer. The incumbent of this position serves as Electronic Resources Coordinator and assumes both a leadership and liaison role in working with staff from all areas of the Library to build the collection and to enhance access to electronic resources. The coordinator provides support for the selection, acquisition, cataloging, processing, and maintenance of electronic resources, communicates with staff throughout the Library on issues related to electronic resources, and participates in Library-wide efforts to best connect users with electronic resources.
