Cambio Center Coordinator (University of Missouri)
The University of Missouri’s Cambio Center leads research and outreach on Latinxs and changing communities. Cambio is hiring a Coordinator and we hope you will help us share the position information with your contacts.
This position is located at the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri. The coordinator is part of a vibrant community of researchers, administrators, practitioners, and educators that includes 50+ fellows and 15+ student fellows. As the Coordinator, the candidate will be in charge of:
  • Cambio Center outreach to and engagement of stakeholders, extension/community education, communications, fundraising, grant writing, and project management.
  • Managerial support to the Cambio Center leadership team consisting of the Center's Director and Board Members.
  • Coordination and support for research grants developed by the Cambio Center Fellows.
  • Coordination and support for the Cambio events, including the Cambio de Colores Conference, campus academic programming activities and coordination with Cambio fellows.
  • Administrative management of the Cambio Center office, specifically facilitating complex administrative duties with minimal supervision and often working independently on activities, such as event planning, logistics, funds procurement, and budget/fiscal management, etc.
  • Supervision, mentorship, and support of students and other Cambio staff. Be an active resource and champion for diverse populations on campus and in Missouri.

Requirements The candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree and 2 years working experience in an academic environment. Intercultural and bilingual abilities include being fluent in Spanish reading, writing, and speaking, as well as cultural competence with Latin America.
The preferred qualifications include:
  • Strong communication skills: demonstrated English writing ability, use of social media, etc.
  • Master’s Degree and academic research experience is desirable.
  • At least 5 years of general administrative and support work experience and one year experience working in academic settings. 
  • Experience working with faculty and students.
