Berkeley Public Library in Berkeley, California is seeking exceptional applicants for the role of Librarian I. The Librarian I is an entry level position responsible for public services, including program planning and delivery, outreach, collection management, and community engagement.  Additionally, the cataloging/metadata position is responsible for preserving the integrity of the Library’s catalog through ongoing database development work.  This recruitment may be used to fill future vacancies in this classification.
The Library currently has multiple vacancies—in our branches and Central Library, in all specialty areas:  Adult, Children’s, Teen and Collection Services.

Applicants must have an equivalent to graduation from a college or university with a Master's degree in Library Science. Progressively responsible related experience may be substituted for the college coursework on a year-for-year basis.  Proficiency in languages in addition to English is highly desirable.
