The University of New Mexico (UNM) College of University Libraries & Learning Sciences (CULLS) seeks a collaborative and forward-thinking Collections Coordinator within the Library's Learning, Research, & Engagement (LRE) unit, reporting to the Director of LRE. The successful candidate will lead a comprehensive collection strategy with operational responsibilities including resource development, fund management, and vendor relations. The incumbent will coordinate and collaborate with colleagues across the University Libraries (UL) in the implementation of collection strategies and operations. Major stakeholder units include LRE, Access Services, Technical Services, the Center for Southwest Research (CSWR), and Assessment. The Collections Coordinator participates as a member of library-wide groups, task forces, and project teams as appropriate and is expected to work with a high degree of expertise in a shared decision-making environment.
This is a full-time, 12-month open rank faculty position. The Collections Coordinator will work to meet research and service requirements and will participate in faculty governance as detailed in the UNM Faculty Handbook. The annual salary starts at a minimum range of $76,267 with generous benefits. The faculty rank, tenure status, and salary are negotiable based on qualifications and experience. The desired start date is August 1, 2025.

Primary Duties
- Leads the collaborative management and expenditure of the UL's acquisitions budget in consultation with the Collection Leads group and Director of LRE.
- Leads and coordinates strategic development of the UL's collections to support the University's research and teaching mission.
- Leads and coordinates the operational activities of the Collection Leads group and the Collections Advisory Committee.
- Leads in the development and revision of CULLS policies, procedures, and guidelines related to collection development and management.
- Actively collaborates to develop new strategies and evidence-based methodologies for the acquisition of scholarly resources and content, its management, and assessment across formats (including print, digital, media, data, and other emerging formats) and across delivery platforms.
- Guides, supports, and identi?es opportunities for improvement in the operational aspects of collection management across formats, including work?ows, analysis, assessment, and project planning.
- Serves as the UL's key point of contact for vendors. Communicates and negotiates with vendors in the acquisition of new and ongoing subscription resources.
- Gathers, prepares, and presents data and information to relevant UNM stakeholders to inform collection decisions.
- Stays abreast of local, regional, national, and global trends in library collection subscription and licensing models and monitors emerging trends among research intensive academic institutions.
- Supports distinctive collections and other CSWR collections budgets.
- Collaborates with CULLS Director of Development to strategically advocate for and manage donor funds for collections.
- Collaborates on library space projects relevant to collections.
- May represent UNM in regional and national consortia.
