As a
Library Specialist, Mobile Library Services, you’ll connect people with information, technology, and each other as you foster learning and belonging one stop at a time. This role is perfect for someone who is high energy, enthusiastic, and thrives on movement, variety, and active engagement throughout the day.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Patron Engagement and Service Delivery
Greet and assist patrons in mobile settings, including
bookmobiles,
senior centers, and c
ommunity events. Provide advisory services, help with accounts and library use, and respond to patron needs with a high level of empathy and professionalism.
Technology and Digital Assistance
Support patrons with basic tech troubleshooting including everything from eBooks to mobile devices. Connect patrons with deeper resources as needed.
Materials and Collection Support
Process, shelve, load, and merchandise library materials to keep collections vibrant and accessible.
Driving and Safety
Operate and maintain library vehicles
(including CDL-compliant vehicles) safely and responsibly, ensuring consistent access to library services.
Program Support
Contribute to outreach programs including story-times, events, and seasonal reading initiatives.
Professional Growth and Teamwork
Stay up to date on library resources and participate in continuous learning and cross-departmental collaboration.

QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED
- 2+ years of customer service, education, or library experience
- Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record
- CDL or willingness to obtain within 6 weeks of hire
- Intermediate tech skills (Microsoft 365, tablets, mobile devices)
- Ability to work evenings/weekends and navigate varying physical demands (lifting up to 40 pounds, stooping, pushing carts)
PREFERRED
- Bachelor’s degree
- Experience operating large vehicles
- Bilingual in Spanish and English (or other languages)
