Technical Services Manager
Shaker Heights Public Library is seeking a service-oriented professional to direct the acquisition, cataloging, and processing of library materials. Responsibilities include monitoring the ordering, purchasing, and processing programs for library materials, cataloging materials, communicating with vendors and publishers, and managing the system materials budget. Collaborates in the management of collection development. Supervises the technical services staff. Serves as senior person in charge and works public service desks as needed.

M.L.I.S. from an American Library Association accredited school preferred, though an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.


A minimum of three years of professional library experience in technical services, with progressive levels of responsibility and supervision. Knowledge of Integrated Library Systems, preferably SirsiDynix and the implementation of 9XX and EDI ordering systems. Familiarity with AACR2, RDA, Library of Congress Subject Headings, cataloging procedures and MARC records.
