LIBRARY REGIONAL MANAGER – AFRICAN - AMERICAN RESEARCH LIBRARY & CULTURAL CENTER
Salary Range - $ 94,225.25 - $150,383.58 Annually (dependent upon classification and qualifications)
Broward County Board of County Commissioners is seeking a qualified candidate who is dynamic, innovative, and passionate about public libraries and providing quality service to a culturally rich and diverse community, for the position of Library Regional Manager for the African-American Library and Cultural Center in a large nationally recognized library system. This position may be assigned to any location within the Libraries Division based on operational needs.
The library system includes a staff of 800+ positions, the African American Research Library and Cultural Center, a Main Library, five Regional Libraries, 31 Community Branches, a digital branch with 24/7 remote access, and partnership facilities with local educational institutions.
This is a highly responsible administrative position that involves planning, organizing, and directing the activities of the African American Research Library and Cultural Center. Work involves interpretation and implementation of all library policies and procedures, supervision of high level professional personnel, planning, public service functions, and the organization of services to the public. Work also includes the management of African and African-American special collections (rare books, archives, and artifacts), programs and exhibits, assisting the needs of the community, establishing and implementing public service priorities, attending conferences, workshops and public and professional meetings. Work is subject to review for the attainment of desired management objectives and conforming to existing policies and procedures and priorities to meet established goals.
The purpose of this position is to manage, plan, supervise and coordinate the activities of a cluster of libraries or flagship library location or a division-wide section. The functions of this position include but are not limited to: supervising staff, managing public services, operations, projects, programs, facilitating partnerships, community engagement, coordinating, developing, and implementing division-wide initiatives. This position is responsible for collaborating with partner organizations, local community groups, government agencies, arts and educational institutions, local businesses, and Friends of the Library and is regularly assigned complex administrative projects.
COMMUNITY LIBRARY MANAGER , SENIOR FULL TIME
Salary Range - $ 81,536.42 - $130,132.29 Annually (dependent upon classification and qualifications)
Broward County Board of County Commissioners is seeking a qualified candidate(s) for the position of Community Library Manager, Senior in the Libraries Division's Main Cluster Region. Additional vacancies may be filled from this recruitment for a different location/section within the library system. This position may be assigned to any location/section within the Libraries Division based on operational needs.
The purpose of this position is to manage, plan, supervise and coordinate the activities of a regional or flagship library location or a division-wide section. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate strong leadership skills; the ability to mentor staff; the ability to make meaningful contributions to system-wide policies and procedures; and the ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levels of the organization, partners, and community based organizations. Additionally, the selected candidate must be able to develop productive relationships and partnerships with organizations, that increase usage of library resources and develop new library customers.
The functions of this position include but are not limited to: managing staff, volunteers, collections, and other resources of a regional library; implementing projects and programs that further the Libraries Division’s strategic objectives; facilitating partner relations; supporting and cultivating outreach and engagement efforts; ensuring a diverse and well utilized collection for the public and any partners; ensure that team members are well trained in customer service, circulation, youth and adult information services. This position is regularly assigned complex administrative projects and will be assigned as manager in charge of a cluster of libraries in the absence of the Library Regional Manager.
COMMUNITY LIBRARY MANAGER FULL TIME
Salary Range - $ 70,555.89 - $112,607.04 Annually (dependent upon classification and qualifications)

The purpose of this position is to manage, plan, supervise and coordinate the activities for one or more library locations. The functions of this position include but are not limited to: supervising staff, managing public services, operations, projects, programs, facilitating partnerships, coordinating and cultivating outreach efforts, supporting division-wide initiatives, managing collection development, circulation, youth and adult reference services and readers advisory.
This position is also responsible for serving as a liaison to the local community and Friends of the Library.
LIBRARIAN, SUPERVISOR FULL TIME
Salary Range - $ 65,633.98 - $104,750.88 Annually (dependent upon classification and qualifications)
Broward County Board of County Commissioners is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Librarian, Supervisor within the Libraries Division. Additional vacancies may be filled from this recruitment within the library system. This position may be assigned to any library location/section within the Libraries Division based on operational needs.
The purpose of this position is to organize, direct, coordinate and prioritize the workflow of a
service section of a regional or flagship library; participate on the supervisory team of the
assigned location; ensure that Broward County policies and procedures are followed; resolve
day-to-day operational issues; develop and implement programs and services, including division- wide initiatives; cultivate outreach efforts; and serve as a Supervisor-in-Charge of the building on a regular basis. This position is also responsible for collection development, youth and adult reference services, programs and readers advisory.
In addition, this supervisor serves as a resource to multiple libraries in the assigned cluster;
provides training to staff throughout the system; may assign staff to other locations as needed; and on occasion assists at other libraries. This supervisor participates on system-wide committees and is responsible for collaborating with colleagues to ensure reference procedures are current and meet the needs of the Division and customers.
This position requires the individual to model the highest level of excellent customer service and professionalism to internal and external customers of the Division.
LIBRARIAN, SENIOR – MAIN LIBRARY CREATION STATION BUSINESS
Salary Range - $ 56,794.19 - $90,644.94 Annually (dependent upon classification and qualifications)

The purpose of this position is to plan, supervise and coordinate the activities of a business entrepreneurship section--Creation Station Business (CSB). The primary responsibility of this position is operating the CSB, an innovative co-working space that nurtures local entrepreneurship. This includes supervising staff, project or program coordination, cultivating outreach efforts, and supporting division-wide initiatives. This position is also responsible for collection development, reference services, programs and readers advisory. This position requires a candidate who has the ability to make connections with the startup business community.
LIBRARIAN FULL TIME & PART TIME - 19
Salary Range - $49,1466.66 - $ 78, 437.84 Annually (dependent upon classification and qualifications)
Broward County Board of County Commissioners is seeking a qualified candidates for the positions of Librarian Full Time and Part Time - 19 at various library locations. Additional vacancies may be filled from this recruitment. This position is expected to serve in the capacity of Youth Services and Adult Services Librarian and may be assigned to any library location/section based on operational needs.
The purpose of this position is to plan, supervise and coordinate the activities of a service section. This includes supervising staff, project and program coordination, cultivating outreach efforts, and supporting division-wide initiatives. This position is also responsible for collection development, youth and adult reference services, programs and readers advisory.
The ideal candidate will provide reference support to customers of all ages; work with their team to develop and provide high-quality programs and events to the public; assist the Library Manager in the selection, de-selection, and assessment of the library collection; provide Supervisor in Charge support on an as-needed basis; maintain effective relationships with community groups and local stakeholders; and participate on division-wide committees and teams to improve service to the public. Other responsibilities include maintaining awareness of current and changing needs in the community, and promoting an understanding of such issues among library staff.
