We are proud to announce the winner and finalists of the 2025 REFORMA National Book Award (RNBA). After a year of careful deliberation, a committee of dedicated REFORMA members has selected works of outstanding adult fiction that portray, affirm, and celebrate the Latino/Latinx/Lantiné cultural experience. The winner will be honored at the annual American Library Association (ALA) Conference in Chicago, and will receive a plaque and a $1,500 prize.

REFORMA Announces 2025 National Book Award Selections
LOS ANGELES - The National Association to Promote Library and Information Services to Latinos and the Spanish Speaking (REFORMA), is proud to announce the winner and finalists of the 2025 REFORMA National Book Award (RNBA). After a year of careful deliberation, a committee of dedicated REFORMA members has selected works of outstanding adult fiction that portray, affirm, and celebrate the Latino/Latinx/Lantiné cultural experience. The winner will be honored at the annual American Library Association (ALA) Conference in Chicago, and will receive a plaque and a $1,500 prize.

Nominations for the 2026 RNBA are now open. Submit eligible titles published in 2026 in the United States or its territories using our nomination form and be part of celebrating outstanding literary voices. The 2026 winner will be announced in early 2027 and will receive a plaque and a $1,500 prize at a national library conference.

About the REFORMA National Book Award
The REFORMA National Book Award is presented annually to a Latino/x/é author whose work best portrays, affirms, and celebrates the Latino/x/é cultural experience in an outstanding work of literature. The award serves as a beacon of literary excellence, actively combating community erasure and negative stereotypes. The inaugural award was presented in 2024 to Malas by Marcela Fuentes published by Viking Books, an imprint of Penguin Random House.
