Celia Avila de Santiago
2025 Dr. Arnulfo D. Trejo Librarian of the Year Award

Celia Avila de Santiago has been dedicated to the field of libraries since 2005, gaining valuable experience across multiple locations across Los Angeles. Currently the Senior Librarian of the Exploration and Creativity Department at the Los Angeles Public Library, she oversees system-wide programming, crafting engaging experiences that inspire curiosity and a love for learning. As a co-chair of the LAPL LGBTQIA Services Committee, she also plays a role in organizing meetings and events that promote inclusivity and awareness.
Celia has been a member of REFORMA since 2013 and has taken on various leadership roles with the Los Angeles Chapter, including President, Public Information Officer, and Fundraising Chair, and currently sits on the board.
Celia has also been serving as the REFORMA National Public Relations Chair for several years, working to spread the word about the association’s programs and events while helping to shine a spotlight on REFORMA chapters and committees.
