Statement of Support Oregon State Library

REFORMA National would like to commend the State Library of Oregon for creating a position to assist Oregon libraries to improve Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Antiracism (EDIA). This challenging work must be done in a high level position with proper compensation, and cannot continuously fall on the shoulders of BIPOC staff that already have so much more work to do. This needs to be a collaborative effort in order for it to truly generate meaningful change.

REFORMA hopes that this creates traction for other State Libraries to follow suit and create a similar position to address the many challenges our libraries and BIPOC staff face on a daily basis.

Thanks again to the State Library of Oregon staff for furthering this important work.
